The word, “revolution”, has many definitions.  It may be considered a full 360 degree rotation as in the revolution of a wheel.  It may also be defined as a movement that deviates from the status quo.  For the purposes of this article, we believe both of these definitions will serve well.

Full Rotation

In order to  be considered a revolution, one-must follow through with the momentum that was started with whatever movement that was initiated.  That is to say, if a wheel, or a motor gear is to be considered as having gone through a revolution, it is important to complete the cycle – the full 360 degree rotation.

In business, your campaigns must also experience a complete follow-through.  That means that you must finish what you start, leading many in business to a paralyzing point: they do not plan what the end of any given campaign must look like.  Rather than actually starting with the end in mind, many entrepreneurs start only with the beginning in mind, expecting the end to make itself known.  There is a fatal flaw in this strategy.  If one fails to identify the end of a campaign, one might miss it as it flies by, or more likely; one might give up before the revolution is complete.

Deviation From Status Quo

We’ve all heard the phrase, “We’ve never done it that way before.”  On the surface, none of us would embrace that excuse coming from someone that we are trying to educate, and yet, we willingly allow the intent of that phrase to limit what we, ourselves are willing to learn.  A revolution, by its very nature, requires us to face such excuses with an eagerness to set aside fear and an openness to change.

Every day on The Experience Pros Radio Show, we put voice to the business revolution that we are starting.  Rather than being a place where people call to complain about poor customer service, our show exists to allow people to congregate and praise those businesses that are getting it right.  We further plan out our revolution by providing training (Experience Pros University) that offers business owners a new paradigm by which they conduct their business.

And how will we know when we are successful?  Fortunately, listeners to our show, and students of Experience Pros University both tell a very similar story: their customers are telling their own FRANC circles (Friends, Relatives, Associates, Networks and Customers) about the fantastic experience they received under the businesses touched by the revolution!  Complete rotation is easy to identify when your customers out-perform your sales and marketing efforts and referrals start pouring in.

Think it just a pipe-dream?  That sounds an awful lot like, “We’ve never done it that way before.
