In work, as it is in life, everything we do is a choice.  Nothing happens “to” you.  You choose how you will respond to outside circumstances.

Many times, people that we meet tell us that their business is so difficult because of the economy, or the lack of customers, or the weather… take your pick.  When it comes to excuses for why things aren’t working the way we expect them to, everyone’s got one.  What these people need to hear is that all of these are just that: excuses.  The economy certainly plays a part in people’s spending habits… we get that.  But now that you have that information, what are you going to do about it?

At Experience Pros, we encourage our clients to make their own destiny by accepting what is, and moving away from wallowing in what they cannot change.  It is so much more productive to focus on what they can change.  And when we do, we actually write our own ending to the story of our business.  Now, doesn’t that sound much more productive?

This line of thought comes as a difficult thing to swallow when you are in the midst of a challenge in the life of your business.  And typically, if there are challenges in your business, they tend to spill over into your personal life as well.  That notwithstanding, in the end, it all boils down to choice.  You choose how you will respond to the circumstances that happen around you.  We encourage you to choose wisely.  Choose the positive, and do not allow the negative to weigh you down.  Choose to focus on what’s right in your business – and the negative will take a back seat.
